Mufasa has improved its momentum at the worldwide box office, while its rival release Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is leading in North America. Meanwhile, the Disney film has found a decent number of viewers in the Indian markets and is expected to gross over Rs 125 crore.
Mufasa: The Lion King grosses Rs 5.25 crore on second Monday; Nearing Rs 100 crore in India
In India, The Lion King (2019) prequel Mufasa: The Lion King grossed Rs 63 crore in its first week at the box office. In the second weekend, Mufasa grossed Rs 28.5 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday combined. On the 11th day (second Monday), superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu’s film grossed Rs 5.25 crore in India.
The Barry Jenkins-directed film’s total collection so far stands at Rs 92.75 crore in the Indian markets. Mufasa is now inching towards the Rs 100 crore club in our country. The feat is expected to be achieved on the 13th day, i.e., the second Wednesday, which coincides with New Year’s Day.

Mufasa: The Lion King has been released in India in both Hindi and Telugu versions. Shah Rukh Khan has dubbed for the Hindi-speaking audience, while Mahesh Babu has voiced it for the Telugu version. The superstardom of both the actors has done wonders for Mufasa.
