Mahadevan’s performances at the Maha Kumbh Mela will be spread across two dates: January 16 and January 28, 2025. His first performance, on January 16, will take place during the inaugural ceremony of the cultural events that are a hallmark of the Maha Kumbh Mela. On January 28, 2025, Mahadevan will take the stage again, this time performing for the revered Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Niranjani Akhara. The Niranjani Akhara is one of the most prominent and influential spiritual organizations at the Kumbh, and Mahadevan’s performance for such a distinguished audience adds to the grandeur of the event.
For Mahadevan, both performances represent not just a career achievement but also a personal spiritual milestone. “I’ve always wished to do seva (service) at the Kumbh, but until now, circumstances never aligned,” he said.
He also expressed his excitement about performing during the Maha Kumbh, an event that occurs only once every 12 years. “Astrologically, the positioning of the constellations during the Maha Kumbh is said to happen only once in 144 years. It is an opportunity I truly feel blessed to be part of,” he added.
