The forecast for the next few days in Prayagraj suggests similar weather conditions. On January 20, fog or mist is expected in the early morning hours, with temperatures ranging between 12°C and 23°C. The sky is anticipated to clear later in the day, offering a more comfortable afternoon. On January 21, fog will return, although the daytime temperatures are predicted to rise slightly, reaching a maximum of 24°C.

The morning will see mist, but it will dissipate to reveal a clear sky in the afternoon. These conditions are particularly relevant for pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh Mela, as foggy mornings could affect travel and early rituals. Those planning to partake in the holy dip at Triveni Sangam or other early morning activities should prepare for chilly conditions by wearing warm clothing. The afternoons are expected to be much more pleasant, with clear skies making it an ideal time for exploring the mela grounds, attending spiritual sessions, or visiting cultural exhibits.

Weather Conditions Across Uttar Pradesh

In other parts of Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Lucknow, severe cold has been reported, with dense fog reducing visibility to as low as 50 meters. Due to this, an alert has been issued for cold westerly winds and fog in 45 districts across the state. Meteorologists predict that temperatures could drop to as low as 3°C in some areas. The weather is expected to remain dry in both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh over the next couple of days.

As the western disturbance intensifies next week, rain and thunderstorms are predicted in various parts of the state on January 21 and 22. The dense fog is expected to persist throughout Sunday, but meteorologists forecast that from Monday, strong westerly winds will help clear the fog. As a result, temperatures are expected to rise, and the sunshine will return. However, the cold winds will continue to affect the region, providing intermittent relief from the cold.

In Lucknow, the dense fog continued into Saturday morning, further exacerbating the cold. After some brief relief from the chill in the afternoon, the cold winds regained strength by evening, making the temperature drop again. The weather department warns that similar conditions will prevail in the coming days, with fog in the mornings and clear skies in the afternoon, although cold winds will persist.

With the Mahakumbh Mela in full swing, pilgrims are advised to stay prepared for the weather changes, particularly the foggy mornings. By taking necessary precautions, including dressing warmly, adjusting travel plans, and staying informed about the weather, visitors can make the most of their spiritual journey. Meanwhile, the rest of Uttar Pradesh will continue to experience cold conditions, with fog in the mornings and fluctuating temperatures. Staying updated on weather forecasts will be key for anyone traveling in the region during this period.
