Design & Display

The OnePlus 13 introduces a fresh yet familiar design. While it shares some design elements with its predecessor, it offers a few notable changes. The device now comes with a flat display, moving away from the curved design of the OnePlus 12. The rear panel houses a circular camera module, which features four sensors. The device is available in three color options: Blue (leather), Obsidian (glass), and White (glass). The premium feel of the phone is enhanced by silver accents around the rear camera module and the side frames.

The display is another highlight of the OnePlus 13. Featuring a 6.82-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support, the device delivers crisp and vibrant visuals. The maximum brightness is rated at 1,600 nits in high-brightness mode and 4,500 nits in peak brightness, ensuring good visibility even in bright outdoor environments. An important feature is the phone’s ability to be used while wearing gloves, making it convenient during colder weather. The screen is also protected by Ceramic Guard coating, ensuring durability and scratch resistance.

Performance & Software

The OnePlus 13 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on a 3nm process. This chipset brings substantial improvements in performance and energy efficiency compared to previous models. It is paired with the fastest LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, offering faster app loading times and overall smoother performance. The device runs on OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15, promising a responsive and user-friendly interface. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 will receive four years of major Android updates and five years of security patches, ensuring long-term software support for users.

Battery & Charging

One of the standout upgrades in the OnePlus 13 is its improved battery capacity. The device is now equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, an increase from the 5,400mAh battery in the OnePlus 12. According to OnePlus, the new battery can easily last up to two days with moderate usage. The OnePlus 13 supports 100W wired charging, allowing the battery to be charged to full capacity in no time. Additionally, the phone also supports 50W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest charging devices in its category. The device also offers a 5,000mAh magnetic wireless charging power bank, which can be attached to the phone for on-the-go charging.

Camera Upgrades

The OnePlus 13 retains the 50-megapixel LYT-808 primary sensor from the OnePlus 12 but upgrades the telephoto and ultrawide sensors to 50 megapixels each. The camera system supports 4K/60fps Dolby Vision video recording, delivering professional-grade video capabilities. The front camera has been upgraded to a 32-megapixel sensor, offering higher quality selfies and video calls. With its advanced camera system, the OnePlus 13 aims to compete with the best in the flagship smartphone segment.

Durability & Security

For users concerned about durability, the OnePlus 13 is IP68 and IP69 rated, meaning it is resistant to dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. The device also comes with an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, allowing users to unlock the phone quickly, even with wet hands. OnePlus has also improved the vibration motor, which is now capable of providing “gaming controller-level feedback,” improving the overall gaming experience with enhanced haptic feedback.

The OnePlus 13 comes packed with significant upgrades in terms of design, performance, battery life, and camera capabilities. It continues to follow the brand’s philosophy of offering flagship-level performance at a competitive price, aiming to maintain its “flagship killer” status. With a sleek design, powerful internals, and a well-rounded camera system, the OnePlus 13 is poised to be a strong contender in the premium smartphone market.

If you’re considering upgrading your smartphone, the OnePlus 13 offers great value for money. With its combination of cutting-edge features, elegant design, and competitive pricing, it is set to attract a large number of users in India and beyond.
