Singham Again on OTT: Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone fail to impress; trolls compare it to ‘Maggi Dosa’ 2 months after its release, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again dropped on OTT today.
The biggest clash at the box office this year was between Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Both films released in theatres on Diwali, giving fans a double bonus to choose from.
Well, today after almost two months, Rohit Shetty’s cop drama has taken the digital route to reach a larger audience. Starring Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff along with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Singham Again released on OTT today.
Expressing the same, an internet user tweeted, “If Singham-1 was Masala Dosa, other issangham versions are like Schezwan Dosa, Pav Bhaji Dosa, Maggi Dosa, Paneer Dosa!! while another Twitter review read, “@PrimeVideoIN Saw #SinghamAgain yesterday #RohitShetty really forgot the real origin of Singham and made it a khichdi of stars with funny dialogue delivery.
Sadly I give 2.5 stars and happy not to waste my money on cinema.” Kareena, who plays Ajay’s onscreen wife, was particularly trolled. Under a Reddit thread featuring a scene from the film, a social media user claimed, “His acting is a parody of himself,” while another snarky comment read, “Bhai iss movie me sabne bhayanak overacting ki hai…patni kya hi movie banayi hai sabne.”
Referring to Ajay’s bored expression in the clip, another social media user said, “Ajay’s reaction is all we are getting to see is Kareena Amma’s overacting.”
Apart from bringing so many popular actors in one frame for Singham Again, Rohit also roped in Bollywood’s bhaijaan and birthday boy Salman Khan for a special cameo.
The scene features Salman as Chulbul Pandey from Dabangg (2010) meeting Ajay aka Singham. This is definitely a highlight that is eagerly awaited!
