Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Collection Day 4- Ajith Kumar’s Film Inches Towards ₹100 Crore Milestone, Ranks Among 2025’s Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films
Vidaamuyarchi, which translates to “perseverance” in English, has shown remarkable resilience at the box office since its release, defying mixed reviews and significant dips in its opening days. Despite facing challenges, the Ajith Kumar-starrer is steadily approaching the ₹100 crore club. As the film enters its fourth day in theaters, it has earned approximately ₹62.75 crore in India, while its global collection stands at ₹32.3 crore, bringing its total to around ₹93-95 crore, and it is expected to cross ₹100 crore soon.
After a strong opening of ₹26 crore on its first day, the film’s performance was a mixed bag, with a considerable 61% drop in collections on Day 2 (Friday). However, Vidaamuyarchi staged a recovery over the weekend, with a 31.7% increase in box office earnings, making ₹13.5 crore on Saturday, and the same amount on Sunday. Day 4 has also seen an estimated ₹13 crore in collections, marking a steady hold at the box office despite varying reviews.
The film’s opening weekend, coupled with a decent number of showings, has contributed to a notable domestic revenue of ₹62.75 crore. Its worldwide earnings, including ₹32.3 crore from international markets, reflect a strong and promising performance. Compared to Ajith’s earlier film Thunivu, which grossed ₹67.4 crore over a five-day weekend, Vidaamuyarchi has surpassed expectations, as it has done so in just four days, indicating strong momentum.
On its opening Friday, Vidaamuyarchi earned ₹10.25 crore, followed by ₹13.5 crore on Saturday and around ₹13 crore on Sunday. By the end of Day 4, the total earnings stood at approximately ₹62.75 crore in India. Despite the somewhat moderate occupancy rate of 45.95% on Sunday, Vidaamuyarchi has proven its capacity to perform well during its initial run.
The film’s Tamil screenings enjoyed good attendance, with occupancy rates of 37.04% in the morning, 54.73% in the afternoon, 54.13% in the evening, and 37.88% during night shows. However, the film’s Telugu release as Pattudala did not fare well at the box office, grossing only ₹1.5 crore across the first four days. This low performance highlights the importance of an effective publicity campaign for films aiming to tap into regional markets beyond their original language.
Despite the mixed critical reception, Vidaamuyarchi has already managed to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025 and is now placed in the top five highest-grossing films of Indian cinema this year. Other films in this prestigious list include Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Game Changer, Sky Force, and Daaku Maharaaj.
Looking ahead, Vidaamuyarchi has a clear run until February 21, with no major competition on the horizon. After that, films like Nilavuku Enmel Enadi Kobam and Dragon will likely take over the box office. If Vidaamuyarchi can maintain its performance through this window, it will likely see further growth, but its continued success largely depends on how it fares in its first Monday performance.
For Lyca Productions and the Vidaamuyarchi team, the success of the film thus far is a positive sign, and if the film sustains its hold, it will be a major achievement. However, if the momentum falters, Ajith’s dedicated fanbase will quickly shift their focus toward the upcoming release of Good Bad Ugly directed by Adhik Ravichandran, which promises to be a fun and lighthearted contrast to the serious tone of Vidaamuyarchi.
Vidaamuyarchi
Vidaamuyarchi is showing resilience despite challenges and mixed reviews, earning solid box office numbers and maintaining its position among the top-grossing films of 2025. The coming days will reveal whether the film can continue its steady climb toward the ₹100 crore mark or if the release of new films will slow down its momentum.
